Vast sweeping lush scenery provides the perfect backdrop for enjoying the great outdoors. The compact city of Dublin, host to the River Liffey, which divides the city between its Northside and Southside is a city of contrasts. These two areas have very distinct characters, with the Southside certainly regarded more fashionable, thanks to its Grafton Street shopping area and the rejuvenated Temple Bar arts quarter. Yet the north possesses Ireland's two most renowned theatres and its own increasingly lively nightlife. On either side of the river it's easy to break from the city's bustle, to relax or picnic in its numerous green spaces; or perhaps to escape to the shoreline for seaside strolls and blustery cliff-top walks. For anyone that loves the great outdoors, Ireland is a dream destination. This charming county has it all, with truly sublime scenery, exceptionally friendly locals, internationally renowned spas, gorgeous little villages and excellent restaurants. The exceptional southwest coastline is a series of peninsulas that open out into larger bays and give a totally unique feeling to the county, with craggy hills that tumble down into the choppy ocean below, and a remote, untouched aspect to the land. The Irish people are patriotic and proud of their Emerald Isle and after a visit it is not hard to see why.
