A grand Renaissance-style palazzo standing elegantly on the shores of mountain-backed Lake Como, Villa d'Este has welcomed guests with its gracious hospitality since 1873. The façade in all its magnificence dominates the lake shore, just minutes from the village of Cernobbio. Amidst 11 hectares of gardens and wooded parkland, Villa d'Este, a member of the Leading Hotels of the World, offers infinite elegance in baronial surrounds. Beautiful ceremonial marble staircases and tapestried halls form a gracious setting of exquisite architectural grandeur. The fusion of elegance, flawless and superlative service will satisfy the most discerning of travellers, as it has for generations. The finest of cuisines, offered from every corner of the globe are served in equally stunning settings, from the elegant and formal setting of the Veranda to the more casual atmosphere of the Grill. Indolent days under the warm summer sun are served well aboard the floating pontoon that is home to the outside swimming pool, whilst for those feeling the guilt of epicurean indulgence, the fitness centre and squash court are the perfect sporting venues. Not forgetting smaller guests, a kids club for the ages 3 to 8 years (available in July and August) and a children's pool ensures familywide entertainment. The 152 classically styled rooms, each with their own personality, are airconditioned and offer television, telephone and minibar with views of either the lake or the gardens.
