Built of Maltese limestone in a traditional hunting lodge style, in a valley on the gorgeous island of Gozo, is the Kempinski Hotel San Lawrenz, an elegantly rustic retreat offering privacy and comfort and a truly exceptional spa specialising in Ayurveda and Marine Care therapies. The Kempinski Spa is considered to be one of the largest and best Ayurvedic and Marine Care Centres in the Mediterranean. Algae body wraps, balneo baths, peeling scrubs, underwater massages, a 31° oxygen rich hydro pool, steam baths and solarium are just some of the treatments and facilities available. The Ayurvedic Centre is overseen by the expertise of a doctor and professionally trained therapists who offer a wealth of experience to maximise the effectiveness of treatments. There are two outdoor free form swimming pools and a family pool, as well as a children's pool and indoor pool with jacuzzi. The fitness centre is well equipped and overlooks the gardens, and there are two tennis courts and two squash courts free for guests to use. Choices for dining include L'Ortolan restaurant or Trattoria San Lawrenz, both featuring Mediterranean and light Maltese cuisine using fresh vegetables, olives, herbs and citrus fruits from the resort's own garden. Local fisherman from the village of San Lawrenz provide freshly caught fish for the barbecue buffet in the Gazebo garden (summer only) and there is a pool bar (summer only), a café and lounge (serving some of the most tempting pastries on the island!) and 24-hour room service is available. All restaurants have terraces overlooking the gardens and pool areas for al fresco dining. A complimentary shuttle to the beach, the capital Victoria and most popular island attractions is available. Diving can be arranged and for children there is a kids club. Each of the 122 cool and airy rooms and suites is equipped with airconditioning, television, minibar, tea/coffee making facilities and balcony. Superior rooms have country views whilst Deluxe rooms are larger with pool views. Junior suites are larger still with an additional sitting area and pool and garden views.
