With so many wonderful resorts and World Class hotels to choose from in the South of France, our suggested itineraries combine some of the best areas for the ultimate World Class experience. Discover the hidden beauty of Provence which has inspired so many writers and artists. Venture into the hills above Cannes and explore the medieval village of Mougins, once home to Pablo Picasso, or to Vence and St Paul de Vence, inland from Nice. For the best stunning views of the coastline take a trip to medieval Eze, perched high above the sea between Nice and Monaco. Our fly drive holidays in France include British Airways flights from Gatwick to Nice, accommodation as detailed and car hire (Renault, Megane or similar) for the duration of your break.
PROVENCE & NICE
6 NIGHTS Fly to Nice where you will collect your AVIS car then drive one hour to the Four Seasons Resort Provence at Terre Blanche in Tourrettes (p79), where you will be staying for four nights in a Superior Four Seasons suite. Following a relaxing stay, drive towards the coast and to the Hotel Negresco (p81) situated on Nice's famous Promenade des Anglais, where you will stay for a further two nights in a Garden and seaview room. Nice is a great base to explore the area. Drive a short 15 minutes to Nice airport and drop off your car before your return flight to Gatwick.
CANNES, NICE & MONTE CARLO
6 NIGHTS Fly to Nice and pick up your hire car at the airport. A 30 minute drive to Cannes takes you to the Hotel Martinez (p82), where you will stay for two nights in a Superior room (mountainview). Drive on to Nice to the Palais de la Mediterranée (Superior room, p80), a fabulous Art Deco building right in the heart of Nice, to spend the following two nights enjoying the glittering resort. Continue to Monte Carlo for the last two nights of your holiday at the Hotel de Paris (p84), situated adjacent to the famous Monte Carlo Casino. Here you will stay in a Superior inside courtyardview room. Finally, drive 40 minutes to Nice airport, drop off your car and fly to Gatwick on your return journey.
