Located opposite the Parliament, in the centre of the Paseo del Arte, the Villa Real is the gateway to the Museum triangle formed by the Museo del Prado, the Museo Nacional Centro de Arte Reina Sofķa and the Museo Thyssen-Bornemisza. Established in 1989, Hotel Villa Real was designed to embody the splendour of 19th Century Spanish classical architecture. The interior continues the classic theme with period furniture throughout. Mosaics, original sculptures from Ancient Rome and a collection of Greek ampullas belonging to one of the most important private collections in Spain, create a unique setting. This collection of works of art decorates the noble areas of the hotel, together with contemporary art by Guinovart, Warhol and Tąpies, which illuminates the remaining areas. The hotel restaurant; East 47, offers contemporary cuisine in an easy going casual atmosphere. There are 115 rooms all with magnificent views of the city, offering pure luxury. All are equipped with airconditioning, television, minibar, music centre and individual works of art. Larger Suites and Duplex suites are available on request for the ultimate in luxury.
