Arriving Hanoi on Monday and transfer to your hotel for an afternoon at leisure. I Day 3 Tue Morning at leisure in this lakeside city. Later enjoy a cycle tour of Hanoi including the Temple of Literature and the fascinating Old Quarter. This evening see a water puppet show and return to the hotel for dinner. B,D. I Day 4 Wed Time for a short city tour visiting the One Pillared Pagoda and the monumental marble mausoleum of Ho Chi Minh (closed October and November) and tour the museum and simple house where he lived. I Day 5 Thu Enjoy a spectacular boat ride on Halong Bay viewing stunning limestone scenery and visiting the caves and grottos that make this region famous. Enjoy a seafood lunch on board. Return to overnight in Hanoi. B,L I Day 6 Fri Fly to Danang with Vietnam Airlines and continue to the Museum of Cham Sculpture, China Beach, Marble Mountains and the picturesque UNESCO World Heritage listed town of Hoi An. Later, travel via the Pass of the Ocean Clouds to Hue and overnight. B. I Day 7 Sat Situated on the Perfume River this ancient imperial city has long been an important cultural centre. Despite heavy war damage, Hue's magnificent architecture can still be seen. Today cruise along the Perfume River to the Thien Mu Pagoda and Minh Mang Tomb set amidst beautiful gardens. Also visit the Imperial Citadel and colourful Dong Ba market. B,L. I Day 8 Sun Fly from Hue to Ho Chi Minh City with Vietnam Airlines. This afternoon take a tour of this growing city, which will include the History Museum, Notre Dame Cathedral and the Presidential Palace. B,L.
I Day 9 Mon Today drive through the countryside to the Cu Chi Tunnels an amazing series of underground tunnels which became the hiding place for thousands during the turbulent war years. Return to Ho Chi Minh City to visit Chinatown and Thien Hau Pagoda. B,L. I Day 10 Tue Fly Thai Airways to Bangkok for your onward flight to Heathrow, arriving the next day.
