I Day 2 Sun Arrive in Delhi and transfer to the Oberoi Maidens in central Delhi for one night. Relax in the afternoon then later see the optional Sound and Light Show at the Red Fort or Dances of India Show. I Day 3 Mon After breakfast a fascinating orientation of bustling yet mesmerising Old Delhi with its narrow streets and teeming colourful bazaars. Continue by coach to the imperial architectural masterpiece of Lutyen's New Delhi. Wander Ghandi's memorial `Rajgat' before driving along the sweeping Rajpath to the monumental India Gate where you can also view the President's Palace and the resplendent government buildings. In the afternoon leave the capital by road for Agra and The Trident, Agra for two nights (130 miles). B. I Day 4 Tue The highlight of any tour, this morning visit the Taj Mahal. The cool marble and clear symmetry are justifiably a masterpiece of the modern world. A short tour around Agra follows including the massive 16th Century red sandstone fort and the fairy tale Jahangir Palace. The afternoon is left at leisure with an optional tour to visit the Itimad-ul-Daulah (Baby Taj) available or to the Taj Mahal at sunset. B. I Day 5 Wed After an early breakfast leave Agra for the `Pink City' of Jaipur stopping to see the famed deserted Mughal city of Fatehpur Sikri. Rest for lunch en route (at additional cost) at the village of Abhaneri. Stay two nights at The Trident, Jaipur (160 miles). B. I Day 6 Thu Drive out of Jaipur and visit the ancient imposing Amber Fort. Later tour Jaipur and see the Royal Observatory and Maharajah's Palace with a photo opportunity at the unique Palace of the Winds. Take a rickshaw ride through the bustling streets between the City Palace and Albert Hall. Optional evening cookery demonstration with dinner. B. I Day 7 Fri This morning set out on the long but fascinating drive to the former desert trading post of Bikaner. In the afternoon visit the Fort by horse drawn carriage. Overnight at the heritage Laxmi Niwas Palace (194 miles). B. I Day 8 Sat Enjoy breakfast before setting out across the Thar desert to the Golden City of Jaisalmer for a stay of two nights at the Fort Rajwada (206 miles). B. I Day 9 Sun Morning tour of Jaisalmer Fort and the havelis contained within. Afternoon at leisure to explore the local markets and bazaars. Optional evening camel ride over the sand dunes to enjoy a traditional dance performance and picturesque sunset over the Thar desert. B. I Day 12 Wed After breakfast enjoy a drive to the enchanting and romantic city of Udaipur, visiting the intricate Jain Temples nestled within the Aravelli Hills. Settle into The Trident, Udaipur for two nights. B. I Day 13 Thu Morning tour of Udaipur, visiting the City Palace and the Jagdish Temple. Later enjoy a boat ride on the lake (subject to water levels) and tea at the Crystal Gallery. B.
