Continue by road to Puerto Natales, gateway to the Torres del Paine National Park about 70 miles north. The next three nights are spent at the Remota lodge, designed in a unique style with spectacular views over the Sound of Last Hope. The lodge has a restaurant serving excellent food with an emphasis on fresh local produce and there is also a swimming pool, sauna and open-air hot-tub. During your time here you may choose from a wide range of excursions around Puerto Natales and into the Torres del Paine National park, famed for the three granite towers after which the park is named � including boat journeys through the fjords, hikes, cycle rides and horse riding. ALL. I Day 7 Sat Return by road to Punta Arenas and board your expedition cruise ship, the first class Mare Australis. After a welcome cocktail, set sail and depart into the strait of Magellan for an incredible cruise through the remote southern end of Patagonia to the island of Tierra del Fuego (literally the Land of Fire). Cruising offers a chance to see this remote area in a way that would be impossible by land, sailing past astounding scenery with blue glaciers, snow capped mountains and pine forests. ALL. I Day 8 Sun Navigate through the Almirantazgo Inlet, landing near the Marinelli Glacier in Ainsworth Bay, where on the beach you can observe a colony of Elephant Seals.
