I Day 2 to Day 3 Arrive and transfer to the Hilton Buenos Aires for two nights, offering time to explore Argentina's colourful and vibrant capital city. B. I Day 4 to Day 5 Fly south to Ushuaia, the world's most southerly city. Two nights at the first class Los Yamanas hotel, located outside of the city with views over the Beagle Channel. B. I Day 6 Embarkation of the M/V Antarctic Dream and evening departure from port. B,D. I Day 7 to Day 8 Cruise through the Drake Passage where the cold polar waters sink beneath the warmer waters of the more temperate zone. B,L,D. I Day 9 Visit to King George Island, the largest of the South Shetland Islands where you have the opportunity to disembark at Potter Bay. Continue to Aitcho Island. B,L,D. I Day 10 Land at Necko Bay, your first stop on the Antarctic mainland. As well as the spectacular scenery, there is also abundant wildlife to watch out for including blue-eyed shags, cape petrels, weddell crabeaters, leopard seals, orcas and humpback whales. Much of the wildlife has no history of being hunted so is unafraid of human presence. B,L,D. I Day 11 Sail south through the dramatic cliffs of the Lemaire channel. Disembark at Petermann Island, home to colonies of Gentoo and Adelei penguins. Zodiac ride to see the ice formations. B,L,D. I Day 12 Head north to Paradise Bay where again there is time to explore the spectacular surroundings by zodiac. This evening visit the rocky Cuverville Island, an island of dramatic scenery and home to a large Gentoo penguin colony. B,L,D. I Day 13 Sail on to Deception Island, the largest active volcano in the area where there is the opportunity for a swim in the thermal waters. B,L,D. I Day 14 to Day 15 Return crossing of the Drake Passage. B,L,D. I Day 16 Disembark at Ushaia and return flight to Buenos Aires. Overnight at Hilton Buenos Aires. B. I Day 17 Overnight flight on Iberia via Madrid to Heathrow. B.

First class expedition ship ideally suited to exploring Antarctica, whilst offering many of the comforts expected of a larger ship. The ship's experienced crew will guide you through the region, leading walks and expeditions aboard the ship's four zodiacs (small tender boats) and hosting informative evening talks in the auditorium. The dining room offers excellent cuisine and there is also a bar, library, small shop and mini gym. Only 39 outside cabins and suites, all well appointed with individual heating and private bathroom. Amundsen Deck (AMU): lower deck with port-hole. Shackleton Deck (SHA): as above but larger, on the upper deck and with window. (Suites on the boat deck are available, prices on request).
