Lima: 2 nights Arequipa: 2 nights Sacred Valley: 2 nights Cuzco: 4 nights Lima: 1 night I Day 1 Fri to Day 2 Sat Fly Iberia via Madrid to Lima. On arrival transfer to the Libertador San Isidro for two nights. I Day 3 Sun to Day 4 Mon Fly to the city of Arequipa in southern Peru for two nights at the newly completed Casa Andina Private Collection Arequipa, a conversion of the city's old mint house. The city of Arequipa is located at just below 8,000 feet above sea level, meaning the air is generally crisp and clear and it is a good place to acclimatise before continuing to higher altitudes. The city lies beneath the impressive El Misti volcano, and much of the city's fine colonial architecture was built from the white volcanic rock sillar, leading to the city becoming known as the `ciudad blanca' (white city) and the main square is a beautiful sight when the sunlight glistens off the pearly white buildings. I Day 5 Fly to Cuzco, where you will be met and transferred to the Casa Andina Private Collection Sacred Valley. The Sacred Valley is a magical place, lower than Cuzco it will allow you to further acclimatise to the high altitudes, and there are many Incan sites, small villages and spectacular scenery as the mountains drop down to the Urubamba river. I Day 5 Tue to Day 10 Sun Return to Puerto Maldonado for the flight to Cuzco, where you join the Discover Peru from Day 3 on the itinerary.
