A ride on the Skyline Gondola to Bob's Peak for dinner is a must (approx. 220 miles)! DAY 17 h Arise early and make your way to Te Anau, perched on the eastern shore of Te Anau Lake and gateway to the Fiordland National Park. See highlights such as the Mirror Lakes, Pop's Lookout and the Chasm (approx. 110 miles). DAY 18 h Continue to Dunedin, the

the `coolest little capital in the world' and perhaps visit the Te Papa National Museum or take the cable car to the botanical gardens (approx. 200 miles).
DAY 11 h Leave Wellington and

DAY 2 h This morning continue
your journey to the Bay of Islands. Try your hand at big game fishing, sailing, take a dolphin cruise, visit the nearby Waitangi Treaty Grounds or stroll around historic Russell (approx. 140 miles).
DAY 5 h Continue your journey to the Coromandel Peninsula, a large swathe of rugged landscape. Visit Hot Spring Beach, take a cruise or ride the Driving Creek railway through lush rainforest to an artist's colony (approx 260 miles). DAY 7 h Move on to Rotorua, a geothermal hot spot renowned for its geysers, mud pools and
head to Nelson, gateway to the Abel Tasman National Park and famed for its arts and crafts. It offers visitors the opportunity to go sailing, kayaking and bush walking (approx 200 miles).
DAY 13 h Arise early and continue
`Edinburgh of the South' and perhaps stroll through The Octagon, visit the Dunedin Public Art Gallery, experience Larnach Castle, or enjoy the serenity of the botanical garden (approx 180 miles).
DAY 20 h Leave Dunedin for the
