Serre Chevalier is probably the largest resort you have never heard of. It gathers 13 traditional villages under its banner with Chantemerle (1350m), Villeneuve-La-Salle (1400m) and Monetier-Les-Bains (1500) as the main ones as well as the mediaeval fortified town of Briançon (1200m). One of the best maintained resorts in the Southern Alps, it offers a fabulous array of slopes and panoramas, superb lift infrastructure and snow making facilities, and a wide variety of restaurants, café and shop. Three recently built, 4-storey chalet-style residences (with lifts) divided into 79 apartments, located 200m from the ski lifts (ski back to door when sufficient amount of snow), the ESF ski school and the resort centre (all amenities). A free public shuttle bus service operates throughout the resort. Facilities: Communal lounge with open fire, fitness suite. Loan of cots & high chairs for children under 2 (subject to availability - state at time of booking). Ski lockers. Payable locally: Sauna and steam room (e8/session, e39 for 7 sessions. 1 free sauna or steam room session/apt/week). Pool table. Accommodation: kitchenette with oven or microwave, ceramic hob and dishwasher, furnished terrace or balcony.
