On this trip, we explore the wide-open spaces, wildlife, culture and history of the Northern and Western Cape Provinces of South Africa. Our journey starts in the Northern Cape on the Orange River and heads south through bleak and beautiful Namaqualand into the Western Cape where we explore the wine region, Cape Town and its surrounding attractions. Visits to fair trade wine, fruit and seed producers and a variety of other development projects help us better understand life in this complex country.

Eksteenskuil Agricultural Co-op (EAC)
The EAC is a cooperative of farmers, many of whom have suffered from forced relocation during the years of apartheid. Despite continued attempts, many still do not own title deeds to the land they work. Vine crops have been seen as a solution for farmers and Traidcraft now purchases a signicant proportion of EACs vine fruits for its Geobars and muesli.
