T h e D a l m a t i a n C o a s t , C R O AT I A Trogir T H E D A L M AT I A N C O A S T Croatia Croatia has all the ingredients for the perfect sailing holiday. Over 1000 miles of coastline characterised by sublime crystal clear turquoise waters, golden shores and thousands of offshore islands, anchorages and harbours are just waiting to be explored. The country prides itself on an amazing range of national parks and Unesco heritage sites, which protect a range of environments from dramatic limestone caverns to river deltas and outstanding walled cities such as Dubrovnik, one of more than a dozen incredible fortified towns scattered across the region. Split and Northern Dalmatia is at the heart of the Croatian Adriatic. The region has more than 300 islands. Our flotilla base, near Split on the Trogir Riviera allows you to explore a wide area ranging from Zadar and the stunning Krka waterfalls in the north down to Dubrovnik and the islands of Mljet and Korcula in the south. The beautiful islands of Brac and Hvar are also within easy reach. Hvar is almost 70 kilometres long and is famed for its lavender, best seen during May and June, when the air is heady with scent. Brac situated just above Hvar is the source of much of the stone used to build countless Venetian cities and the island was a summer retreat for the privileged societies of Split in days gone by. Today the island is famed for one of the most dramatic beaches in Europe at Bol and its' excellent wine, olive oil and figs. North of Split is the Krka River National Park and the Krka waterfalls, a real highlight of this cruising area and the perfect place to relax and cool off in the stunning surroundings and refreshing water of the falls. There is so much to see and do in this breathtaking sailing area, bareboat charters can choose to explore further taking in the Kornati National Park with 150 remote islands, many of which are uninhabited, or cruise towards Dubrovnik via a myriad of islands and anchorages along the way. Soaking up the stunning scenery as you go, with light breezes first thing, building throughout the afternoon, confident sailors will enjoy pushing their skills in this idyllic location.
