ItInErary 22 DECEMBEr London/Moissac Fly to Toulouse and transfer to your hotel in Moissac. 23 DECEMBEr Moissac, auvillar & Lauzerte Historic and beautiful Moissac lies amongst vineyards between the Tarn and Garonne rivers. Today is your chance to tour the town and the 7th-century Abbey of St-Pierre with its biblical stone carvings and explore the beautiful hilltop villages of Auvillar and Lauzerte. CHrIStMaS EVE albi & Cordes Today we enjoy a walking tour through Albi's mediaeval streets in the old quarter, including the magnificent Gothic Cathedral of Ste-Cecile. This is topped only by our visit to Cordes, an unspoilt walled town with steep cobbled lanes precariously perched on a ridge above the river. Make sure that you work up an appetite for tonight's traditional French-style Christmas Eve dinner at your hotel. CHrIStMaS Day toulouse Christmas Day begins with a real treat a visit to the lively and vibrant city of Toulouse. Look out for the mellow pink brick buildings that give the city its character; a personality that is reflected in the huge town hall, the ornate Renaissance mansions and splendid churches that make Toulouse so extraordinary. Along the way you'll have plenty of free time to explore the city. A festive Christmas dinner completes what may well be the ideal way to spend one of the most magical days of the year. BOXInG Day Carcassonne The largest fortress in Europe, La Cite, towers majestically over this city. You'll be amazed by the double battlemented walls, turreted towers and panoramic views that capture all the romance of mediaeval France. 27 DECEMBEr auch & Condom The charming town of Auch, home to the Musketeer D'Artagnan, is just one of the destinations on today's tour. This beautiful old town dominates an outcrop that overlooks the tree-lined River Gers, with the Gothic waterside Cathedral de Ste-Marie as one of its main attractions. Today's tour also includes the market town of Condom lying at the heart of the Armagnac trade where you'll have a chance to taste this classic brandy at the magnificent Chateau de Cassaigne. 28 DECEMBEr Moissac/London Return to Toulouse airport for the homeward flight. yOUr HOtEL Hotel Moulin de Moissac (3-star), 6 nights half board. Originally dating from the mid-15th century, this former mill majestically set by the fast-flowing waters of the River Tarn is now an elegant hotel of great charm and character.
