The highlight of our visit is the awe-inspiring Alhambra Palace. Built by the Moors in the 13th and 14th centuries on a hill overlooking Granada, it is a magnificent complex of pink-stone courtyards, pools and fountains, halls and terraces. This was the ruling caliphs idea of paradise on earth. While you may have seen countless photographs of the palace, none can do justice to such a breathtaking sight. There will be a little free time to explore Granada itself, which is one of Andalucias most beautiful cities. 23 December seville No visit to Andalucia would be complete without a trip to the regional capital  the atmospheric city of Seville. Our visit today includes the company of a knowledgeable local guide to help you make the most of the city. Seville is the city of Carmen, Don Juan and Figaro. Steeped in history, the town stands on a towering plateau and is divided by a precipitous gorge that is over 600 feet deep. El Tajo, as the gorge is known, is spanned by an 18th-century bridge, the Puente Nuevo, from where we can peer down to the waters of the River Guadalevin far below. El Mercadillo, the newer 18th-century part of town, is home to one of the most impressive bull rings in Spain, while the older southern side is a typical pueblo blanco  enjoy a stroll through the cobbled alleys, which are lined with traditional whitewashed houses.
