Then set sail for France. ITINERARY DAY 1 Monday 18 August Liverpool Join the Ocean Majesty in Liverpool and settle in to your cabin in time for our 1600 departure. Get to know your fellow passengers over a drink before dinner and look forward to a wonderful evening of entertainment in the Show Lounge. DAY 2 Dublin Occupying a beautiful location spread out along the banks of the River Liffey, Dublin boasts the largest concentration of Georgian architecture in the world. Shore excursions include a fascinating city tour visiting Trinity College to see the Book of Kells, an illuminated manuscript believed to be the work of the monks of Iona who fled to Kells in AD806 and the famous 65-metre Long Room, home to more than 200,000 ancient books. Alternatively, visit Helen Dillons famous garden, an oasis of colour and charm within the district of Ranelagh. DAY 3 Fowey The pretty port of Fowey is quintessentially Cornish and our anchorage here, with the town on one side of the deep-water estuary and the village of Polruan on the other, is breathtakingly beautiful. Neat terraces cascade down towards the busy harbour. The area is associated with writer Daphne du Maurier, and an exhibition of her work can be found in the town centre. There will also be the opportunity to join our shore excursion to the Eden Project, an unforgettable experience in a breathtaking location covering 35 acres. Here, massive biomes, similar to giant conservatories, house plants from all over the world. Monet's Gardens DAY 4 Cruising Enjoy the on-board facilities as we head towards Rouen in northwest France. DAY 5 Rouen The capital city of Normandy on the River Seine was once one of the largest and most prosperous cities in mediaeval Europe. Steeped in history, Rouen surrendered to Henry V in 1419 and came under English sovereignty for the next thirty years; Joan of Arc was burned at the stake in Market Square in 1431; and under Nazi occupation, the German Navy had its headquarters in a local chateau during World World 11.
