David Barbey has been interested in the arts, and in fine furniture, all his life and for 5 years was responsible for the Valuation Department of a large firm of London Auctioneers. He is involved in the BBCs Bargain Hunt and has also appeared in Flog It and the Antiques Roadshow. He regularly lectures on his subject and his expertise lies in furniture, decorative arts and paintings.

DAY 11 Mahon Menorca is the second largest of the Balearic islands and boasts an unspoilt coastline and green and pleasant countryside. The capital, Mahon is filled with historic buildings and beautiful squares and its compact size makes it easy to explore on foot. Shore excursions will explore the island. DAY 12 Barcelona The vibrant city of Barcelona is a cultural hotspot; the architecture of Antoni Gaudi is dotted throughout the city and his unfinished masterpiece, the Sagrada Familia, is a draw for many visitors. Our excursions feature a tour focusing on the architects creations in addition to a city tour incorporating the Gothic Quarter and the Spanish Village. Our overnight stay allows you to experience the city at night the perfect opportunity for a stroll down Las Ramblas, a hive of activity both day and night. DAY 13 Saturday 4 October Barcelona-UK We transfer to the airport for the homeward flight.
DAY 8 Cruising Take a leisurely breakfast this morning and an al fresco lunch on deck while you soak up the Mediterranean sunshine. DAY 9 Valencia The third largest city in Spain, Valencia is also one of the countrys most stylish cities. Wander through the mazelike Barrio del Carmen, the oldest part of town, almost entirely encircled by the Rio Turia, a delightful river-bed park with ancient stone bridges and lovely walkways. Shore excursions include a visit to the Cathedral to see the gold and agate cup, said to be the one used by Christ at the Last Supper the Holy Grail itself. The cup was hidden away in a monastery in Aragon throughout the Dark Ages and inspired many of the legends associated with the Grail. There will also be a trip to La Albufera, vast wetlands that attract tens of thousands of migratory birds. DAY 10 Palma The cosmopolitan capital of Majorca is a charming city with plenty of bars, restaurants and shops and a delightful seafront promenade. The old town has much to offer, not least its magnificent cathedral, one of the most breathtaking in the whole of Spain. Shore excursions include a visit to the monastery at Valldemossa; the vast Caves of Drach; and the delightful mountain village of Deia.
