ITINERARY DAY 1 Thursday 7 August Liverpool Join the ship for our 1600 departure. DAY 2 Greenock From Greenock we can take a fascinating excursion to one of Britains greatest cities, Glasgow. Sitting astride the mighty River Clyde, Glasgow has reinvented itself since its shipbuilding and industrial past and is now a lively and modern city with thriving cultural, and shopping attractions that rival the best in Europe. The influence of Charles Rennie Mackintosh can be seen throughout the city. The Kelvin Grove Art Gallery and Museum and Mackintosh House are home to some fine examples of his work. Admire Sir William Burrells magnificent collection of Chinese, French and Gothic art, European tapestries and Egyptian artefacts at Pollok House, or visit one of the excellent contemporary galleries. Stroll around the high street stores and designer shops in the city centre; the warehouses in Merchant City, once filled with tobacco, sugar and cotton, now transformed into boutiques, bars and galleries; and the local shops and restaurants that lend a village atmosphere to the West End. Passengers from Scotland will be joining the Ocean Majesty in good time for our 1800 departure. DAY 3 Cruising Explore the ship and get to know your fellow passengers on our first day at sea. DAY 4 Torshavn The Faroes are made up of 18 islands, all but one of them are inhabited, and located northwest of Scotland, half way between Iceland and Norway. Torshavn is situated on the largest island, Streymoy. One of the smallest capitals in the world, Torshavn is a picturesque town with narrow streets and a leisurely air. The old centre, with its timber houses, is wonderfully preserved many other Nordic timber-built towns of the Middle Ages have been destroyed making this a unique place. There are many opportunities to explore ashore. Join our trip to Vestmanna, where we board boats and sail out to the beautiful cliffs, home to thousands of sea birds during the breeding season, and explore the impressive gorges and grottoes amidst the weather beaten cliffs. Take a scenic drive along the Kaldbak Fjord to marvel at the ancient basalt columns of Streymoy Sill; or visit the islands traditional villages and colourful Viking settlements. DAY 5 Cruising Enjoy the on-board facilities as we head towards Reykjavik. DAY 6 Reykjavik Icelands colourful capital enjoys a beautiful natural setting between the cold waters of the northern Atlantic and Icelands eerie volcanic landscape. It was here that the Icelandic chieftains formed the worlds first parliament in 930AD. Today Reykjavik is an increasingly popular destination and its compact centre with many shops, bars and cafes is a pleasure to explore. During our stay here we can choose from a wide range of fascinating
