DAYS 9 & 10 Cruising Enjoy two leisurely days at sea as our voyage continues towards Tobermory. DAY 11 Tobermory This picturesque port is the main village on the Isle of Mull, one of the largest and possibly the most beautiful of the Hebridean Islands. Many of todays inhabitants are descendants of the islands ancient clans. One of its most famous sons, Major General Lachlan Macquarrie, became Governor of New South Wales and is often referred to as the father of Australia. Step ashore to wander along the quayside passing the harbours brightly coloured buildings, which are instantly recognisable as the backdrop to Balamory, the popular childrens television series. Perhaps enjoy a dram at the welcoming inn, or take the opportunity to visit Duart Castle and the lovely Torosay Gardens. DAY 12 Monday 18 August Liverpool We disembark after breakfast. shore excursions. Our full day Golden Circle tour introduces some of Icelands famous spectacular volcanic features, such as hot springs and natural geysers. You can also visit the Blue Lagoon for a relaxing afternoon bathing in the warm, mineral-rich waters. The city itself offers plenty of attractions, not least The Pearl, a rotating restaurant and viewing deck atop four huge water storage tanks, offering superb views over the city. DAY 7 Reykjavik Free to explore further at your own pace or enjoy another of the excursions on offer. DAY 8 Akureyri The pedestrianised centre of this small and colourful city, provides the ideal opportunity to shop for souvenirs such as Icelandic woollens and handicrafts. Akureyri is surrounded by steep granite mountains and, although the city is only 40 kilometres south of the Arctic Circle, temperatures can reach 25°C in the summer.
