DAY 7 Elba The beautiful, mountainous island of Elba is famed for its white sandy beaches, tiny coves and lush, wooded landscapes. Perhaps take a ride on the cableway to the summit of Monte Capanne, Elbas highest point here you will be rewarded with an amazing view across to the French island of Corsica. Alternatively, join one of our superb shore excursions including a panoramic island tour and a trip focusing on Napoleons year in exile here in 1814. DAY 8 Civitavecchia Our final port of call is the gateway to Rome and you will have the opportunity to explore on your own or take part in a panoramic tour with an expert guide. The sheer number of
famous sights is staggering: from St Peters Square to the Vatican; the mighty Colosseum to the ancient Forum you will be spoilt for choice. Perhaps take a break in one of the many cafes in the Piazza Navona before enjoying more of the citys treasures such as the wonderfully preserved Pantheon and the extraordinary Trevi Fountain: remember to toss in a coin, to ensure your return to the city. DAY 9 Sunday 12 October Civitavecchia-UK We transfer to the airport for the return flight to the UK.
