ITINERARY DAY 1 Saturday 3 May UK-Mahon We fly from the UK to Menorca and join the Ocean Majesty in the islands capital, Mahon. Settle in to your cabin for our 2000 sailing. DAY 2 Palma Majorca boasts stunning bays, tranquil coves and golden sandy beaches. The capital, Palma is dominated by the great cathedral, one of the most breathtaking in Spain. Take a stroll along the delightful seafront promenade and discover the charming old town with its 14th century castle, the only one in Spain that has a completely circular design. Shore excursions include a visit to the monastery at Valldemossa, home for a short period to the 19th century novelist George Sand and composer Frederic Chopin; the vast Caves of Drach, with Europes largest underwater lake; and Deia, a delightful mountain village on the islands spectacular west coast. DAY 3 Cruising Enjoy a leisurely day at sea as we cruise south towards the mainland. Be sure to check the daily programme for details of activities so you can plan your day. DAY 4 Malaga The thriving port of Malaga is set on a beautiful bay of the Mediterranean and offers much for the visitor to discover. Visit the Picasso Museum to see an impressive collection of the work of the citys most famous son; and enjoy fantastic views from the Alcazaba and Gibralfaro, two Moorish citadels. Malaga also serves as our gateway to Andalucia, a delightful region of undulating landscapes, historic towns and great cities with a distinctly Moorish flavour. Shore excursions can include delightful Mijas; the spectacular caves of Nerja, with their 20,000 year-old wall paintings; and, most breathtaking of all, Granadas Alhambra Palace. This awe-inspiring complex of pink-stone courtyards, pools and fountains, halls and patios was built by the Moors in the 13th and 14th centuries as the ruling caliphs idea of paradise on earth. Although you may have seen countless photographs, none can do justice to such a wonderful sight. DAY 5 Cruising Food is a great part of any cruise and today we have the opportunity to really appreciate the quality and service with a day on board the ship. DAY 6 Lisbon Make sure you are on deck this morning as the Ocean Majesty approaches Lisbon up the mighty Tagus estuary. Its a memorable introduction to the city, characterised by cobbled streets in the ancient Alfama district, broad avenues, and the riverside quarter of Belem, site of the Jeronimos Monastery and the Monument to the Discoveries. Join a city tour for an excellent introduction including magnificent views of the harbour; visit the Rococo Palace of Queluz in Sintra; the bay of Cascais and the elegant resort of Estoril; or for garden lovers, theres a tour of some of the citys beautiful gardens including Estufa Fria and the botanical gardens of Ajuda. DAY 7 Vigo Galicias largest town, Vigo is also the biggest fishing port in Spain. A short distance from the port is Barrio del Berbes, the oldest part of the town and one-time sailors quarter. The narrow cobbled streets are now full of lively cafes and tempting tapas bars serving delicious seafood.
