After rounding Cape Horn and crossing the Drake Passage youll spend up to five days exploring this fascinating continent with its unique landscape and wildlife. Here you can visit penguin colonies, see majestic icebergs float by, watch seals basking in the sun, and maybe spot passing whales. Youll also learn about famous polar explorers such as Sir Ernest Shackleton, Captain Robert F. Scott and Roald Amundsen. These visits are complemented by a visit to the southern part of Patagonia and the chance to see beautiful Torres del Paine National Park. The southern Andes Mountains form a stunning backdrop to the lush green coastal landscape, dotted with colourful fishing villages. On the first and last voyage of the season, M/S Nordnorge will also visit South Georgia and the Falkland Islands. These are some of the most remote communities on earth. M/S Nordnorge is part of the Hurtigruten fleet and offers a true journey of discovery. Two ondeck Jacuzzis, heated to 38°C, allow you to relax in comfort and enjoy the awesome scenery. Although licensed to carry 460 passengers, the Nordnorge will carry a maximum of 350 on voyages to Antarctica to ensure the highest levels of service. The ships Polar Cirkel boats are used for going ashore.
