ITINERARy DAy 1 UK/Strasbourg We depart London St Pancras or Ebbsfleet by Eurostar to Paris and connect with the high-speed TGV service to Strasbourg. First Class travel can be arranged please see supplements. On arrival we transfer to our hotel for a four-night stay. DAy 2 Strasbourg After a guided walking tour the afternoon is free to explore the magnificent NotreDame Cathedral; the 18th-century Chateau des Rohans; and the ancient Pharmacie du Cerf. Stroll through Strasbourgs lovely old quarter, where tall, half-timbered houses line the quays, and tempting restaurants and bars are the ideal place to linger. An optional boat trip along the river is a delightful way to see the city. This evening we enjoy dinner in a traditional Alsace restaurant. DAy 3 Colmar & Kaysersberg Our optional excursion takes us on a guided tour of the fortified market town of Colmar, home of sculptor FredericAuguste Bartholdi; and on to the imperial town of Kaysersberg, birthplace of theologian and philosopher Albert Schweitzer. DAy 4 The Alsace Wine Road Our full-day excursion takes us along the beautiful Alsace Wine Road to visit the mediaeval town of Ribeauville, dominated by the ruins of three fortified castles built by the Seigneurs de Ribeaupierre; and to Riquewihr in the heart of the Alsatian vineyards. We end the day with a tasting of the regional wines in the cellars at Zellenberg. DAy 5 Mulhouse Car Museum & Besancon We drive to Mulhouse to visit the Cite de lAutomobile, a fascinating museum housing the most prestigious collection of cars in the world, before continuing to Besancon where we stay overnight. DAy 6 Besancon & Arbois Our optional sightseeing tour of Besancons historic centre reveals a remarkable ensemble of mediaeval stone buildings and its extraordinary Astronomical Clock. We travel on to Beaune for a three-night stay and visit Arbois for a tasting of the local rose wine and the almost sherry-like vin jaune. DAy 7 Beaune Our included tour takes us to see the Hotel Dieu with its vast timber-roofed hall and fine 15th-century altarpiece by Roger van der Weyden, topped by a tiled roof with distinctive diamonds of green, black, yellow and orange. We also visit the Musee du Vin in the former residence of the Dukes of Burgundy to learn the history of wine making before a tasting of the acclaimed Cote de Beaune wines in one of the towns cellars. DAy 8 Dijon & Fontenay Abbey Our full day optional excursion takes us to Dijon to admire the elegant 17th and 18th-century houses, mediaeval half-timbered buildings; the Chartreuse de Champol, site of the intricate marble tombs of the Dukes of Burgundy; and the magnificent 13th-century cathedral. The city is famous for its mustard and pain depices or gingerbread, a reminder of the towns position on the spice route. We continue to Fontenay, home to the best preserved Cistercian Abbey in France and now a UNESCO World Heritage Site. DAy 9 Beaune/UK We transfer to Dijon station for the TGV service to Paris and onward Eurostar to Ebbsfleet and London St Pancras. yOUR HOTELS STRASBOURG Hotel Hannong (3-star), 4 nights (3 nights bed and breakfast, 1 night half board in a local restaurant). Situated in the heart of Strasbourg, this hotels facilities include a lounge and bar. BESANCON Hotel Mercure Besancon Parc Micaud (3-star), 1 night half board. Centrally located, this modern hotel has a restaurant and bar. BEAUNE Hotel Mercure Beaune Centre (3-star), 3 nights (1 night half board, 2 nights bed and breakfast). Located in the centre of town, the hotel has a garden, swimming pool, restaurant and bar.

Travel Arrangements
Eurostar service from London St Pancras or Ebbsfleet to Paris; departing 0926h (London St Pancras)/0942h (Ebbsfleet) and connecting with the TGV to Strasbourg. The return journey from Dijon takes the TGV to Paris and onward Eurostar to Ebbsfleet and London St Pancras arriving back at 1418h (Ebbsfleet)/1434h (London St Pancras). Please note that timings are subject to change.
