The Great Mosque, Cordoba
DAY 6 Seville Our final included excursion takes us to the regional capital and atmospheric city of Seville. This is the city of Carmen, Don Juan and Figaro and is a delight to explore. Stroll through the Barrio Santa Cruz, with its white houses and flower-bedecked balconies; admire the enormous Gothic cathedral, which took 125 years to complete; and discover the Plaza de Espana, a magnificent semi-circular complex with monumental staircases, fountains and a beautifully tiled alcove for each of the provinces of Spain a quite spectacular sight. DAY 7 Ronda Dont miss our optional visit to Ronda today. Steeped in history, the town stands on a towering plateau and is divided by a precipitous gorge over 600 feet deep. El Tajo, as the gorge is known, is spanned by an 18th-century stone bridge, the Puente Nuevo, from where you can peer down into the gorge to the waters of the River Guadalevin far below. El Mercadillo, the newer 18th-century part of town, is home to one of the most beautiful bull rings in Spain; while the older southern side is a typical pueblo blanco enjoy a stroll through cobbled alleys lined with traditional whitewashed houses.
DAY 8 Antequera/UK We return to Malaga airport for the homeward flight. YOUR HOTEL Hotel Antequera Golf (4-star), 7 nights half board. This is a delightful hotel, exquisitely decorated throughout and set just a 20-minute walk from the centre of the lovely mediaeval town of Antequera in the heart of Andalucia. Choose delicious international or local specialities from the varied and generous buffet dinner menu served each evening in the two restaurants. Sip on a refreshing glass of sangria in the piano and flamenco bars, and pause for a few pleasurable relaxing moments in the comfortable lounge and solarium. Indulge in a little pampering in the beauty salon and hairdressers, or enjoy a massage, Jacuzzi, sauna and Turkish baths. If you are feeling more energetic spend time in the outdoor pool with sun terrace, the health suite with indoor pool and gymnasium, or treat yourself to 18 holes on the splendid golf course set in the beautiful El Torcal park.
