ITINERARY DAY 1 UK/Malaga Fly to Malaga, where you will be met by your Tour Guide and transferred to the hotel in Lanjaron, where we enjoy a welcome drink and stay for seven nights. DAY 2 Poqueira Gorge & Villages This is the ideal base from which to explore the delights of the region. Each walk is run by official walking guides who can show you the hidden gems of the area, and you will come away feeling like youve really seen and experienced the real, rural Andalucia. Today we visit the Poqueira Gorge and walk through the mountain villages of Las Alpujarras  Pampaneira, Bubion and Capileira. From Capileira we follow the path to the River Poqueira, with breathtaking views across the gorge. In the afternoon we enjoy a tasting of the delicious local ham, Jambon de Trevelez, during a visit to a local producer. At dinner tonight we enjoy a performance of traditional Spanish music. Moderate walking  approx 3½ hours with some inclines. Distance  5 miles. DAY 3 Nerja & Salobrena The delightful coastal resort of Nerja is perhaps most famous for the Nerja Caves, said to be some of the best in Europe, which boast fascinating ancient wall paintings and artefacts. We include a tour of the caves before visiting the town of Salobrena, which is dominated by a splendid Moorish castle and lush sugar cane plantations. DAY 4 Orgiva Spend the morning browsing among the varied stalls of Orgivas traditional weekly market. Just off the main street, youll also find the beautiful 16th-century church, or if you fancy a break, there are plenty of welcoming cafes in which to relax. This afternoon we head to Soportujar and then trek through picturesque scenery to Lanjaron, enjoying stunning views of the Guadalfeo River. Tonight we enjoy a traditional Flamenco show at the hotel. Moderate walking  approx 4 hours. Distance  6 miles. DAY 5 Granada & the Alhambra Palace Today we enjoy a guided walking tour through Granada and visit the famous Alhambra Palace, an exquisite example of Islamic architecture. We have plenty of time to explore this lovely city this afternoon. DAY 6 Lecrin Valley Our final scenic walk takes us through the picturesque villages of Acequias, Murchas and Melegis, and we admire the rolling hills and cliffs, citrus groves and olive plantations all around as we go. This area was made famous by the book Driving Over Lemons by ex-Genesis drummer Chris Stewart. In the afternoon we visit a local bodega at Conchar for a wine tasting. Moderate walking  approx 4 hours. Distance  6 miles. DAY 7 Lanjaron Situated at the foot of the Sierra Nevada, Lanjaron is well known for its spring water and spas. Today is at leisure to relax at the famous Lanjaron Spa or explore more of the delights of the town such as the castle of the Moors and the Park of Salao. Tonight we enjoy a farewell barbecue. DAY 8 Lanjaron/UK Transfer to the airport for your return flight to the UK.
