ITINERARY DAY 1 UK/San Quirico dOrcia We fly to Pisa, meet the Tour Guide and transfer to our hotel in San Quirico dOrcia, amid the rolling hills of Tuscany. DAY 2 Montalcino Todays included excursion takes us to Montalcino, a classic Tuscan hill town encircled by mediaeval walls. The Rocca, the towns 13th-century fortress, offers stunning views over the surrounding valleys, dotted with vineyards, orchards and olive groves. Montalcino is also home to one of Italys finest wines, Brunello, and a tasting is included in one of the renowned local cantinas. DAY 3 Siena Our exploration of Tuscany continues in Siena. The city has ancient origins and even today its cityscape is still wonderfully mediaeval. A city tour shows us the highlights, including the striking cathedral and the Campo, the square that plays host to the exciting Palio horse race each year. Dinner this evening is taken in a local restaurant in San Quirico dOrcia. DAY 4 Pienza & Montepulciano Todays excursion takes us to Pienza, known for the production of tangy pecorino cheese. We continue to Montepulciano for a tasting of the acclaimed Vino Nobile and Rosso di Montepulciano wines at the Faggeto Cantina, belonging to the Baroncini family. Faggeto is the source of an excellent Diavolo il Faggeto Vino Nobile di Montepulciano DOCG. DAY 5 Florence A highlight of any tour of Tuscany is a trip to Florence, the cradle of the Renaissance.

Page & Moy Tour Guide
A walking tour with a local guide introduces you to the city and then you are free to explore. Most visitors inevitably find themselves drawn to the buildings at the Piazza del Duomo; the marble-clad cathedral; the Baptistery with its superb bronze doors; and the soaring Campanile. The climb to the top is well worth the effort for the spectacular views over the city and surrounding hills. Just a short walk away is the Uffizi Gallery, home to an overwhelming number of art treasures. DAY 6 San Quirico dOrcia Make the most of a free day today and take advantage of the hotels facilities. If youd like to get out and about, your Tour Guide will be able to give you any help you need. Dinner this evening will be taken in a local restaurant. DAY 7 SantAntimo An optional half-day excursion takes us to the beautiful abbey at SantAntimo, standing in splendid isolation in the Tuscan countryside. The 12th-century church is a classic example of Italian Romanesque architecture. Abandoned for centuries, the abbey is again home to a chapter of monks who celebrate Mass here daily. DAY 8 San Quirico dOrcia/UK We return to Pisa for the homeward flight. YOUR HOTEL Hotel Casanova (3-star), 7 nights half board. This typical Tuscan hotel offers you a warm welcome. Its pretty terrace has lovely views over the Orcia Valley and facilities include an outdoor swimming pool plus a wellness and beauty centre with indoor pool, for the use of which there is a charge paid locally. Enjoy typical seasonal Tuscan dishes in the hotels Taverna di Barbarossa, housed in an adjacent 13th-century farmhouse.
