ITINERARY DAY 1 UK/Toronto We fly to Toronto and transfer into the city and the Delta Chelsea Hotel, our base for the first three nights. DAY 2 Toronto Situated on the shores of Lake Ontario, Toronto is a delightful mix of old and new with futuristic skyscrapers towering over historic buildings. Take in the highlights on our included morning sightseeing tour and make the most of a free afternoon. Perhaps take a ride to the top of the CN Tower, which offers amazing views over the city and lake. DAY 3 Niagara Falls & Niagara on the Lake See one of the great natural wonders of the world as we visit Niagara Falls. Spanning the border between the USA and Canada, the dramatic curtains of water plunging into the Niagara River are an unforgettable sight. Take an optional helicopter flight over the falls or a trip on the Maid of the Mist, sailing right into the basin beneath the Horseshoe Falls. During the afternoon we visit Niagara on the Lake, a pretty wineproducing town. Take a stroll through the charming tree-lined streets and see the elegant clapboard houses, well-kept gardens and small boutiques. DAY 4 Montreal We leave Toronto this morning and travel first-class by train to Montreal. We enjoy exclusive access to the Panorama Lounges in the station and the VIA 1 Lounge on board the train. A delicious three-course lunch with complimentary drinks and a choice of wine is served before arrival in Montreal in the early afternoon. We stay at the Delta Centre-Ville Hotel or similar overnight. DAY 5 Montreal & Quebec City Our morning guided tour takes in the Basilica of Notre Dame; the historic Place des Armes; McGill University; the old port; Mont Royal; St Catherine Street; and the old quarter with its cosmopolitan atmosphere and outdoor cafes. This afternoon we head for Quebec City and the 4-star Delta Quebec Hotel where we spend the night. Our optional dinner cruise on the St Lawrence River this evening is a wonderful introduction to the city. DAY 6 Quebec City & The Ocean Quebec City is an enchanting walled city and World Heritage Site. We see the Citadel, started by the French in 1750 and completed by the British; famous Chateau Frontenac, rising above the city; the Latin Quarter; Parliament Hill; and the Basilica. The afternoon is free to make your own discoveries before an evening out in one of the local sugar shack restaurants. Later this evening we board The Ocean for our relaxing overnight rail journey to Halifax. DAY 7 The Ocean & Halifax Enjoy the Maritime Learning Experience on board the train this morning.
