YOUR HOTELS KATHMANDU Hotel Himalaya (4-star), 3 nights bed and breakfast. This comfortable hotel offers a restaurant, cafe, cocktail bar, swimming pool and comfortable rooms with airconditioning, minibar, TV and telephone. POKHARA Shangri-La Village Resort (4-star), 2 nights bed and breakfast. A comfortable lodge with lovely gardens and a swimming pool, the Shangri-La also has a restaurant and bar. All guest rooms are comfortable and have private facilities. Sanctuary Lodge, 1 night full board. Gurung Lodge, 1 night full board. Basanta Lodge, 1 night full board. Accommodation at the Ker & Downey lodges on your trek is simple but comfortable. Each lodge has a restaurant and guest rooms have private facilities. CHITWAN NATIONAL PARK Machan Wildlife Resort, 2 nights full board. Accommodation is in traditional bungalows with private bathroom. There is a restaurant and bar, and the resort's expert guides are on hand to help you.

(Approximate walking time 3 hours) DAY 7 Majhgaon Dhampus Today we trek downwards through sub-tropical forests to the village of Pothana. This is a lively village, with its interesting shops and restaurants, and is a popular place to stay. Tibetan traders often visit the village to sell their unique wares, and you will have the chance to barter with them for some wonderful souvenirs. After a little free time we resume our walk and head to the Basanta Lodge in Dhampus for an overnight stay. (Approximate walking time 5 hours) DAY 8 Dhampus Pokhara We trek down through superb scenery and forested hillsides to Phedi. From here we board our vehicles for the drive back to the Shangri-La Village. The rest of the day is free for you to explore further or relax. Overnight at the Shangri-La Village. (Approximate walking time 2 hours) DAY 9 Pokhara Chitwan National Park This morning we drive to the Machan Wildlife Resort in the famous Chitwan National Park, where we stay for the next two nights. Chitwan is home to a magnificent array of wildlife, and you will have plenty of opportunity to get to know the amazing animals of Nepal. We include a visit to the elephant stable, where you will be able to meet and find out more about these magnificent creatures. Then it's time for an exhilarating elephant safari into the jungle a unique way to explore the park. DAY 10 Chitwan National Park This morning you are free to take a jungle walk with one of the lodge's naturalists. Your expert guide will point out many fascinating creatures, particularly the park's fabulous birds, along the way. Later on we include a marvellous boat safari in dugout canoes, giving you the chance to spot even more wonderful wildlife. DAY 11 Chitwan/Kathmandu After breakfast we fly back to Kathmandu for a final overnight stay at the Hotel Himalaya. In the afternoon we visit Pashupatinath, one of the four most important pilgrimage sites in Asia, and Bodhnath, where stands a huge Buddhist stupa, believed to be around 1,500 years old. We continue to Bhaktapur, the City of Devotees. The city is home to a multitude of superb sights, including the 15th-century Palace of Fifty-Five Windows, the Nyatapola Temple, whose five terraces are adorned with statues, and the stunning Dattatraya Temple. This evening we have a special six-course Nepalese dinner at a local restaurant. DAY 12 Kathmandu/UK Transfer to the airport for your flight home to the UK. Please note: Due to the specialist nature of our tours, we always ensure you are in small walking groups so you can fully appreciate the places you are visiting.
