Trans-Canadian Railroad Adventure 15 days from £2199 rocky mountaineer Banff national park vancouver " Take a trip aboard the Maid of the Mist at Niagara Falls " Enjoy First Class comfort on The Canadian train " Travel on board the Rocky Mountaineer " Visit vibrant Vancouver Experience the thrill of one of the greatest rail journeys in the world. witness the natural splendour of niagara falls before travelling high into the beautiful scenery of the canadian rockies. take a snocoach ride on a frozen glacier, peer into hells Gate canyon, dine out in vancouvers chinatown and ride a ferry across to colonial victoria. ITINERARY DAY 1 UK/Toronto fly to toronto and transfer to our downtown hotel for a two-night stay. DAY 2 Toronto & Niagara Falls we include a short orientation tour of the city before our visit to niagara falls.the spectacular niagara falls are just 70 miles from toronto and one of canadas must-see sights. Gaze at the twin falls creating a curtain of spray and a rumble like thunder, and (weather permitting) sail on the maid of the mist right into the basin beneath the horseshoe falls  raincoats essential. DAYS 3 to 5 Toronto & the Canadian Train discover toronto, a bright modern city set on the shores of lake ontario. see the famous 1,815 foothigh cn tower, visit one of the many art galleries and museums or shop in one of the citys signature underground shopping malls. we enjoy an included dinner at our hotel before boarding the canadian for three nights full board accommodation and travel across the heart of the continent this evening. the delightful lakelands of northern ontario roll by as we head to winnipeg. continuing west, we cross the vast expanse of the Great central plains and journey on through saskatchewan, a rugged state of boundless prairies, forests and wild rivers. DAY 6 Jasper National Park the canadian continues its passage, revealing new vistas at every turn. this afternoon we make our stately arrival into the picturesque town of Jasper at the heart of the wonderful Jasper national park, where we spend two nights. DAY 7 Lakes & Canyons Experience your first taste of the spectacular rockies scenery, visiting the jewel-like patricia and pyramid lakes, and maligne canyon, a deep limestone gorge with curious rock formations and plunging waterfalls. adventures abound in these parts and you will have the opportunity to take part in some. DAY 8 Banff an unforgettable day as we travel along the icefields parkway, one of the most visually dramatic highways in the world, pausing at athabasca falls, skirting the sunwapta river and the massive glaciers of the columbia icefields. well have the opportunity to take an optional snocoach ride over the frozen surface of the athabasca Glacier before arriving in Banff for a two-night stay. DAY 9 Banff National Park & Lake Louise canadas oldest national park is a natural wonderland of jagged snow-capped mountains, forests, rushing rivers and hot mineral springs. Enjoy a short orientation tour of the pleasant town of Banff and then enjoy an afternoon at leisure or join our optional excursion to the incomparable lake louise. DAY 10 Rocky Mountaineer Train  Banff to Kamloops we journey across the continental divide today and through the incredible twisting spiral tunnels of cathedral mountain. descending Kicking horse pass, the train follows Kicking horse river to rogers pass, revealing stunning glacier views. we pass craigellachie where the final tracks of the canadian pacific railway were laid in 1885, before continuing to Kamloops for an overnight stay. DAY 11 Rocky Mountaineer Train  Kamloops to Vancouver we rejoin the train this morning on its journey west along the thompson river to fraser canyon. here you can peer down into the raging maelstrom of hells Gate. crossing over the coastal mountains and down through the meadows of the fraser river valley, vancouver and the pacific ocean mark the end of our canadian rail odyssey. we stay in vancouver for the next three nights.
