How to best explore this spectacular rugged wilderness? Its your choice!
We make the most of the long daylight hours and aim to spend as much time off the ship as possible, with frequent excursions. Our ships provide a multipurpose platform from which you can participate in a variety of activities. The most exciting thing is that you decide what you would like to do according to your interests or even according to your daily impulse. Peregrines shore excursions are planned with a flair for the unique. You have the opportunity to split into smaller groups of 10 to 15 fellow passengers designed to accommodate varying interests and levels of physical activity. We have a team of excellent staff, many of whom are leaders in their fields, to guide all activities and ensure high levels of safety and organisation. We have enough Zodiac inflatable boats to get all passengers on the water at once, so theres no waiting around. Whether you choose to hike ashore, meet the local people, commune with the wildlife, or cruise among the icebergs, breaking off into special interest groups allows you to spend the maximum time experiencing the polar regions in your own way.
WILdLIFE ANd ORNITHOLOGy Bird and wildlife watching is the backbone of all our expedition programs. Groups will regularly head out in the company of worldrenowned naturalists and ornithologists in search of rare and interesting wildlife. SEA kAyAkING Well take up to 10 paddlers per voyage in the Arctic and 16 in the Antarctic to experience the icy waters in their most serene and tranquil state. If you have experience in paddling and are up for some nautical adventure, then be sure to reserve your spot at the time of booking your voyage. The kayaks, paddles, lifejackets, and drysuits are included, as are the services of a qualified kayak guide. The cost of this optional activity is in addition to the voyage fare please refer to each voyages Trip Details for the price. HIkING Peregrine began as a trekking company in 1977 and weve designed programs to include hiking on all our voyages. During most stops you can join one of our hiking groups on exploratory walks of one to two hours or perhaps as long as three to four hours. The key here is that you can be as active or adventurous as you like. All hikes are tailored to passengers interests and are designed to complement the voyage.
