The Peregrine Community Trust Introducing the Peregrine Community Trust The Peregrine Community Trust provides funds for local projects and initiatives that promote responsible and sustainable tourism TR UST development in the destinations in which we operate. First and foremost the Trust supports projects and initiatives that advance education and employment within the tourism and hospitality industry. CO M M U NI PEREGRINE WILL BE CARBON NEUTRAL By 2008 Peregrine has made a commitment to reduce the greenhouse gas emissions created by our business. In fact, in 2008 we will offset all of our offices' carbon emissions. At head office we now use renewable energy and we're also offsetting the emissions generated by our offices and by staff travel. We realise that travelling on an adventure holiday leads to the emission of greenhousegases that contribute to climate change. We're asking that you help offset your adventure's emissions by embracing one of the key principles of the Kyoto Protocol user pays. We've calculated the carbon offset amount for each voyage and listed it as an optional payment separately to the tour cost so you can clearly see how much it is. Please help us to do the right thing for our planet by adding the carbon offset payment to your final balance. This payment will go directly to our offset partner, Climate Friendly, which will invest in projects aimed at neutralising' your contribution to greenhouse gases. For details on how we've calculated the offset amounts please go to www. peregrineadventures.co.uk/carboncalculator Climate Friendly is an Australian-based profit for purpose' company that invests all funds into renewable energy. Climate Friendly buys only gold standard' renewable energy credits, the highest standard of carbon credits available globally. These credits come from international projects that produce sustainable energy, offering a longterm solution to climate change. After significant research and careful consideration, it's our belief that investment in renewable energy sources is the best way to reduce carbon emissions forever. For your international flights we ask that you offset your carbon emissions by using the carbon calculator on our website www. peregrineadventures.co.uk/carboncalculator The Trust operates on a not-for-profit basis, with funds donated by Peregrine, our staff and our travellers, with every cent going to the nominated projects. By donating to one of the projects supported by the Peregrine Community Trust you will help promote responsible and sustainable tourism and make a positive difference for communities and travellers right now, and for the future.
