Raging rivers, golden beaches, rugged outback, vibrant coral reefs this is Australia!

Stretching from the Indian Ocean, across vast deserts, craggy mountain ranges and dense rainforest, before landing with a splash in the surf of the Pacific this great southern land is a wonderful place to get out and explore. Aussies love showing visitors around their backyard and a highlight of your time Down Under will doubtlessly be getting to know the locals. Whether its having a yarn in an outback pub with a real-life jackaroo or learning about the way of life of the traditional Indigenous custodians of Australia, youll soon find that Australians are a friendly mob. Away from the gleaming modernity of Australias cities lies the fabled outback. This is a place where a single sheep or cattle station (ranch) can cover many thousands of square kilometres with its closest neighbours living many hours drive away. Kangaroos doze in the shade of eucalyptus trees and wedge-tailed eagles soar overhead on the look out for their prey. In the Red Centre, Australias most iconic sight, Uluru (Ayers Rock), rises from the desert to stand sentinel over the countrys heart. In the Top End, desert gives way to lush floodplains and lowlands. Waterfalls tumble down into idyllic rock pools in Kakadu National Park and ancient Aboriginal rock paintings sing stories from the Dreamtime. In tropical Queensland, bizarre creatures like the cassowary and the platypus can be spotted in the rainforest. Beyond the white-sand beaches of the coast, the Great Barrier Reef awaits. Literally teeming with marine life, this magical underwater world stretches for more than 2300 kilometres along the coast. Youll have a devil of a time finding a more beautiful place than Tasmania. Cradle Mountain and Maria Island provide hiking opportunities for everyone, from weekend walkers to adventure-seeking trekkers. It doesnt matter if you have one week or one month, theres something for everyone in Australia.
