day 1 day 2 (Sun) Arrive in Auckland. visit cave and local farm en route to rotorua. enjoy traditional hangi dinner and Maori cultural show. visit waiotapu thermal region and Maori museum. drive to Tongariro National park. day hike to Tama Lakes. optional walk on tongariro Crossing. drive to river Valley Lodge. optional whitewater rafting or horse riding. drive to wellington. free time to explore new Zealands capital. visit amazing te Papa museum or catch the cable car for fantastic views. Catch ferry to picton and travel to Marlborough Sounds. Walk around beautiful Marlborough sounds. sea kayaking excursion, then drive to Kaikoura. Enjoy optional activities, including whalewatching, swimming with dolphins and birdwatching. drive to Hanmar springs. optional hiking, jet boating or horse riding. drive to Blackball. drive to Lake Kaniere for walk. Continue to Okarito Lagoon for sea kayaking. drive to Fox glacier and enjoy hike around Lake Matheson. Walk to terminal of fox Glacier. drive to Haast and enjoy jet-boat cruise on the waiatoto river. drive to wanaka via Haast pass. Hike from Minaret Burn and out to Diamond creek Loop. drive to Queenstown. trip ends in Queenstown after breakfast (Mon). new zealand
