Ecuador & the Enchanted Isles 16 Days
Discover Ecuadors magni cent attractions including the Andes, the Amazon and the stunning Galapagos Islands
This trip provides a fantastic Ecuador experience. We cruise the waters of the Galapagos Islands National Park onboard the Peregrine Endeavour. This vessel offers a safe and comfortable setting and an itinerary that provides an incredible wildlife experience. Returning to Quito, we explore the citys colonial heart and then travel to the Cotococha Jungle Lodge. Located on the banks of the Napo River, the lodge is our base for exploring the remarkable Amazon jungle. On excursions into the forest, our local Indian guide offers wonderful instruction on the surrounding flora and fauna. Returning to the Andes we arrive in the mountain village of Banos, famous for its spectacular setting and excellent outdoor activities. Before returning to Quito, we hike to the Cotopaxi Volcano lookout for fantastic views across the Andes.

ITINERARY AND HIGHLIGHTS
Day 1 Day 2 Day 3-5 (Mon) Arrive Quito and transfer to hotel. Fly to Baltra, transfer to Peregrine Endeavour. Visit Las Bachas. Explore the islands including Rabida, Santiago and Bartolome. Visit Santa Cruz Island including Darwin Research Station and the Highlands. Discover San Cristobal Island Interpretation Centre. Cruise to Espanola Island and Floreana Island. Return to Baltra and fly back to Quito. Sightseeing of colonial Quito. Drive to Cotococha Amazon Jungle Lodge via Papallacta thermal springs. Jungle and river excursions. Drive to Banos via El Pailon del Diablo waterfall. Free day in Banos for optional activities. Return to Quito via the Cotopaxi Volcano. Tour ends in Quito after breakfast (Tue).

This trip has all the ingredients for an incredible adventure. Starting in the pristine waters of the Galapagos Islands, our cruise onboard the Peregrine Endeavour introduces us to magnificent wildlife in one of the worlds most spectacular marine reserves. Back on the mainland our adventure continues, discovering the colonial heart of old Quito before descending steeply to the lush equatorial jungles of the Amazon Basin. Here we explore the surrounding forests with an Indian guide before returning to the lofty heights of the Andes and the beautiful mountain village of Banos, where time is set aside to relax or enjoy great optional activities. As we head back to Quito, we have the opportunity to climb to the refuge on the slopes of the majestic Cotopaxi Volcano a hike that is well rewarded with stunning views of the verdant landscape.
