Its been exactly 30 years since we ran our very first Peregrine adventure and were kicking off the anniversary celebrations with our very best range of trips ever!
Read on and youll find weve been busy searching the globe for the most fascinating places to visit in 2008. New to our stable of destinations is Japan. Join us as we zip through spectacular countryside on the bullet train, wander around electric Tokyo and explore beautiful temples and manicured gardens on our brand new Japan Revealed adventure. Also new for 2008 is The Portuguese Explorer. Over 15 days, we explore the very best of beautiful Portugal and walk through some of the countrys most dramatic countryside. Theres even the chance to taste port at a secluded vineyard in the company of a wonderfully flamboyant maître de, Fatima Ribas. As well as our 30th year celebrations, 2008 also marks the official launch of the Peregrine Community Trust. The Trust is an initiative weve developed to help channel funds into the fragile environments and communities that we visit as we travel around the world. For more information about the projects we support and how you can get involved, see page 12. As always, we aim to do far more than scratch the surface. We take you off the beaten track to explore the hidden highlights of the destination and our tour leaders will show you the heart and soul of their homeland. Our trips appeal to anyone with an inquiring mind and are open to all ages, so if youre looking for a holiday with a difference, look no further. In general, these adventures are not physically demanding. All in all, theres an ideal mix of exploration and relaxation, comfort and adventure.
