Combining Thailand, Cambodia and Vietnam, this trip is a true cultural odyssey
This journey through Indochina takes us from the exciting Thai capital, Bangkok, to Cambodia, where we explore the extensive archaeological site of Angkor. A particular highlight is Ta Prohm, where ancient trees have wrapped themselves around the ruins of equally ancient temples. The Cambodian capital, Phnom Penh, reveals the tragedies of the Khmer Rouge era as well as offering classic Khmer architecture in the form of the Royal Palace. We then enter Vietnam, crossing at a little-known border post into Chau Doc on the bank of the Mekong River. A night in a simple local home, located on an island covered with tropical fruit gardens, is a highlight, before we finish our journey in vibrant Saigon (Ho Chi Minh City).

This pioneering adventure takes us to experience the natural jewel of Cambodia the beautiful Cardamom Mountains. Home to some of South East Asia's last remaining largely unexplored rainforests, the Cardamoms are of immense environmental importance. Enveloped in dense jungle, this region provides a habitat for a vast array of rare wildlife, many species of which have been protected by the inaccessibility of the rugged mountain landscape. On this unique trekking expedition we are privileged to enter this wild domain and learn about what is being done to preserve this precious landscape. What's more, our visit provides a financial contribution to the international effort underway to alleviate poverty here and preserve this unique ecosystem. We also explore the cultural highlights of Cambodia with visits to the vibrant capital city of Phnom Penh, as well as time spent exploring in Siem Reap, home of the foremost archaeological site in South East Asia, Angkor. This is a complete Cambodian experience that encompasses nature and wilderness, as well as history and culture.

Wander around market in siem reap. fly to Phnom Penh. visit Killing Fields of Choeung ek, tuol sleng prison Museum, Wat phnom and silver Pagoda. drive to village homestay in rolerk Kung Cheung. trek in Cardamom Mountains to the top of Knong Kruper. trek along ancient trade route to Knong sroll. sleep in hammock. Monitor wildlife and walk to funerary jar cave and Prey Kamao. Hike into valley through rainforest and past abandoned village to Areng river. trek along river to Chumnoab, an historic Khmer rouge village. overnight in homestay. Walk to pick-up point, then drive to Andong Teuk for seafood lunch and continue back to phnom penh. trip ends in phnom penh this morning (fri).
