Pushkar Camel Fair 15 Days
The best of Rajasthan including an extraordinary and vibrant annual camel festival
For one week, during the full moon period in November, the quiet town of Pushkar transforms into the worlds largest camel fair. Thousands of villagers, merchants and camel traders set up camp to buy, sell, barter and enjoy the festivities. Trading is brisk over 25,000 camels and several thousand head of cattle will change hands during the fair. There are camel races and even camel beauty contests, musicians entertain the crowds and street stalls sell local clothing, jewellery and great food. Everyone dresses for the carnival occasion the men wear brightly coloured turbans and the women dress in their finest jewellery. We combine the festival with a fascinating journey covering the highlights of Rajasthan and visiting the incomparable Taj Mahal.

Highlights of South India 13 Days
A colourful journey across tropical southern India experiencing wonderful scenery and diverse cultures
Southern India is a land of contrast and colour with a pace of life more relaxed than in the north of the country. In Kochi we are based at Fort Cochin and discover the Portuguese influence of this enchanting corner of the city, as well as visit the old Jewish quarter and have a look at the unique Chinese fishing nets. We head to Vaikom and observe the rural lifestyle in the backwaters before boarding a traditional rice barge and taking to the main waterways. Our next stop is inland to enjoy the attractions of Periyar Wildlife Sanctuary home to wild elephant, leopard, deer and the elusive tiger. We then uncover the temples of Madurai and Trichy before relaxing on the beautiful palm-fringed beaches at Kovalam, our final destination before returning to Kochi.
