Splendours of Italy & Southern France 16 Days
A unique itinerary that combines lauded landscapes, delightful villages, history, wine, art and culture. Beginning in stunning Florence we move southeast to Montepulciano to explore its maze of boutiques and wine tasting cellars. We wander across postcard-perfect meadows dotted with pastel farmhouses in the Val dOrcia. The refined city of Siena is our next stop before we continue to the hilltop village of Volterra, famed for its Roman and Etruscan ruins. Our stunning walks to Portofino and along the Cinque Terre are sure to be a highlight before we cross into France. In the Côte dAzur we are based for three nights in the tiny hamlet of Villefranche sur Mer from here we will walk around the famed St-Jean-Cap-Ferrat. We then explore the gardens and spectacular views from the peaceful hillside village of St Agnès. In splendid Aix-en-Provence we follow the story of two of the worlds greatest impressionists Cézanne and Van Gogh before ending our inspirational journey in Arles.
