Alexandria Extension 3 Days
Somewhere beneath the modern city of Alexandria lie the remains of Alexander the Great, buried here in 325BC. The city itself was founded just seven years earlier, in 332BC, but little remains today of its historic past. Instead, it is a vibrant, Mediterranean city sprawling along 17 kilometres of coastline a pleasant antidote to Cairo. Egyptians love the place and many come here from Cairo during the hot summer months to stroll along the spacious promenades during the day and enjoy the bountiful seafood at night. Alexandria boasts an excellent museum and the nearby battlefields at El Alamein offer a sobering reminder of desert warfare.
An ideal conclusion to your Egypt adventure!
