There are no words that can accurately describe the emotions experienced on coming face-to-face with the majestic mountain gorilla. Spending an hour with these highly endangered primates is a breathtaking once-in-a-lifetime event that will etch itself indelibly on our souls and our psyches. Another wildlife encounter awaits us as we travel to Nyungwe Forest, home to one-fifth of all of Africas primates. Here we spend a day trekking and looking out for chimpanzees, black and white colobus monkeys and grey-cheeked mangabeys. We encounter first-hand the incredible spirit of the Rwandan people and learn a little of their cultural history. This journey is a wonderful insight in to this fascinating country.

day 1 day 2 day 3 (sun) arrive in kigali and transfer to ruhengeri. Gorilla trek in Parc national des Volcans. optional treks second gorilla trek, trek to dian Fosseys grave or trek to see golden monkeys. return to Kigali. drive to nyungwe. visit to Butare Museum en route. chimpanzee trek in nyungwe Forest national Park. Visit tea estate and replica of former royal hut en route back to Kigali. Visit Genocide Museum. trip ends in Kigali this afternoon (sat).
