Argentina and Chile offer a wonderful European ambience in the heart of South America. Southwest from Buenos Aires we come to Bariloche, gateway to the beautiful Lake District. Settled primarily by Austrians and Germans in 1895, European immigrants have bestowed an urbane culture and characteristic alpine flavour. Situated on the shores of Nahuel Huapi Lake, the town is the starting point of our lake crossing down to Puerto Montt and Puerto Natales in southern Chile. Here in Patagonia the startlingly spectacular southernmost region of South America the striking granite spires of the Towers of Paine jut skyward whilst the massive Moreno Glacier advances slowly towards Lago Argentino. Even further south, at the very end of the world, we come to the town of Ushuaia. Here, rookeries are home to fascinating sub-Antarctic flora and fauna, and our ships set sail for Antarctica.

ITINERARY AND HIGHLIGHTS
Day 1-2 Arrive in Buenos Aires and transfer to hotel. City sightseeing. Day 3 Morning flight to Bariloche. Afternoon free. Day 4 Travel by boat and bus from Argentina to Chile through the Lakes District to Puerto Montt. Day 5 Morning flight to Punta Arenas. Visit shores of the Magellan Straits. Travel to Puerto Natales. Day 6 Full-day excursion to Torres del Paine National Park. Day 7 Drive to El Calafate. Afternoon free. Day 8 Visit the Perito Moreno Glacier. Return to El Calafate for traditional Argentinean barbecue. Day 9 Fly to Ushuaia over the spectacular Andes. Day 10 Boat trip on the Beagle Channel exploring the tiny islands and rookeries. Day 11 Fly back to Buenos Aires where trip ends on arrival. Start and nish days vary by departure.
