Way back in 1978 a small group of travellers met up in Kathmandu and set off on what would be Peregrines very first adventure...
It was a raging success and over the next few years, word spread about Peregrine and the unique trips we offered in the Himalaya. People from all over the world began to join us as we walked, trekked and climbed our way through this mighty mountain range. Before long, we began to offer adventures further afield in India and Papua New Guinea. Our passion for exploring the world grew and before we knew it we were leading trips to all corners of the globe. In 2008 we are proud to celebrate our 30th year in operation with 144 treks, climbs, hikes, walks and expeditions across all six continents! We love nothing more than getting right off the beaten track and this year were pleased to offer a range of brand new expeditions that do just that. Join us as we explore Iran on our new Images of Persia Expedition, traverse the mountains between Mongolia and Russia on our Altai Sayan Expedition, or saddle up and trek the Andes on our fantastic Andean Horseback Expedition. With only one departure per expedition, these trips are unique and will fill up quickly, so be sure to book early to secure your place. Of course, were still completely passionate about the Himalaya. Following our successful ascent of Chamser Kangri in 2007 (the first Australian/British expedition to do so), in 2008 were preparing to track the snow leopard in Ladakh, scale the heights of Saribung and traverse the beautiful Markha Valley. As well as our 30th year celebrations, 2008 also marks the official launch of the Peregrine Community Trust. The Trust is an initiative weve developed to help channel funds into the fragile environments and communities that we visit as we travel around the world.
