ITINERARY AND HIGHLIGHTS
Day 1 Day 2 Day 3 (Mon) Arrive in Cairo and transfer to hotel. Visit pyramids, Sphinx and Egyptian Museum. Explore the Khan el Khalili Bazaar, Al Azhar Mosque and the Museum of Islamic Art. Overnight train to Aswan. Day 4 Visit the Temple of Isis on Philae Island. Free time to explore the souk. Day 5 Optional visit to Abu Simbel. Board Nile cruise boat. Day 6-7 Sail to Luxor via the temples of Komombo and Edfu. Visit Karnak Temple. Day 8 Visit Valley of the Kings, Temple of Hatshepsut and Colossi of Memnon. Day 9 Drive from Luxor to Al Kharga Oasis. Day 10-11 Drive to Dakhla, visit the medieval town of Al-Qasr and ride camels into the desert. Day 12 Drive to Farafra Oasis and explore the White Desert. Day 13 Drive via Bahariya Oasis to Cairo. Day 14 Tour ends in Cairo after breakfast (Sun).

This is an excellent trip, showcasing the diversity of Egypt. After visiting the pyramids, Sphinx and Egyptian Museum, and immersing ourselves in fascinating medieval Cairo, we head for the laidback southern city of Aswan, where we visit the wonderful Temple of Isis on Philae Island. Theres also time to relax or explore before we board our comfortable Nile cruise boat and visit the temples of Komombo and Edfu en route to Luxor. Karnak Temple and the Valley of the Kings await our investigation, before we head into the Western Desert. Travelling in the company of our Bedouin friends, we explore the oasis towns and amazing scenery of this arid region. By night, we stay in comfortable lodgings that are full of character. The incredible local hospitality and the sublime beauty of the desert landscape will certainly form compelling memories on this exciting adventure.
