Walk amongst wildlife, on extinct volcanoes, and into true Masai heartlands
On this inspiring walking adventure we traverse Hells Gate National Park on foot, marvelling at the diversity of wildlife. On a day walk on Mount Longonot, we climb up to the crater of this recently extinct volcano and absorb the stunning panoramic views. From here the world-renowned Masai Mara region awaits and a full day of game viewing, a morning walk and a night drive ensures that our thirst for safari adventure is quenched. The final half of our tour focuses on a six-day walk into the Loita Hills. This is traditional Masai heartland and our wanderings into this region offer genuine insights into the customs and lifestyle of these pastoral people. Although western visitors rarely get to this region, we will find a warm welcome and a great chance to immerse ourselves into the Masai culture!

day 1 day 2 day 3 day 4 day 5-6 (thu) arrive in nairobi and transfer to hotel. drive to Hells Gate national Park. afternoon walk at crescent island Sanctuary. traverse through hells Gate national park on foot. drive to Mount Longonot base camp. day walk on Mount Longonot up to rim of crater. drive to Masai Mara national reserve. afternoon and evening game drive on private concession and full-day game drive in the Masai Mara. Morning game walk in private concession. drive to town of Maji Moto. Begin Loita Hills trek. Continue trekking through the Masai tribal lands of Loita hills. descend to village of Kalema. transfer to nairobi where tour ends on arrival (Mon).

Discover the spectacular Ngorongoro Crater Highlands, local tribes and plentiful wildlife, on this unforgettable journey
This safari offers a wonderful insight into the remote tribal groups and wilderness areas of northern Tanzania. We visit a fascinating Masai community between Nairobi and Arusha, before travelling into the northern highlands. It is impossible to come to Tanzania and not visit the Serengeti Plains and we stop here for a feast of animal-viewing opportunities. We then take a game drive into Ngorongoro Crater a true oasis of abundance. The absolute highlight of our trip occurs when we head into the Ngorongoro Highlands. Leaving the rim of the crater, we head on foot into the tranquil hills. Covering just over 70 kilometres in four days we traverse breathtakingly beautiful parts of the Great Rift Valley. Impressive peaks, steep escarpments, crater lakes, dense forests, waterfalls, rolling pastures and traditional villages of rarely-visited local people, all combine to provide a visual feast for the senses.
