We are a UK-based specialist tour operator offering archaeological cruises and land based tours around the ancient sites of Turkey. Our expertise stems from an intimate knowledge of the region its geography, history, people, and much more. Peter led his first archaeological tour in Turkey in 1996, since then he has created a rich and varied collection of escorted cultural tours with a difference.
A small family run firm, we take pride in our personal approach, treating our customers as guests with extra special care. Our office manager Elizabeth (above left), has a degree in Art History. Elin (centre), Peter's partner, is at the very heart of operations, and of course there's Peter himself (right). If you have any questions, please get in touch. Our Partners in Turkey
The success of any tour depends on logistics. The basic, behind the scenes, practical arrangements are the very nuts and bolts of making a trip a success - from making sure a vehicle arrives at the right location, to the crucial matter of timing. Meticulous planning is all very well, but actually making it happen is key. We depend absolutely on our local partners in Turkey to ensure all our escorted trips run smoothly, which isn't altogether an easy thing in a country where time is usually a very flexible dimension. Fortunately, we've been working with Almira Travel since 1996. In that time we've seen them grow from a one office base in Bodrum, into a dynamic company with seven offices across Turkey, offering car rentals, flight tickets, and gulet cruises. Yet our key personal contacts have remained unchanged - Alper Akbay (top left) is still the visionary owner, and Cem Yucesoy (top right), our main logistics coordinator, who has organised all our tours to date as well as Peter's filming in Turkey.
