Watch out for leopard seals and penguins. · Day 8 Sail south through a narrow iceberg-filled passage to walk amongst elephant seals. · Day 9 Explore the face of huge glaciers. · Day 10 Sail to an active volcano to swim in warm waters surrounded by ice and snow. · Day 11 Return journey. Relax and talk over your experiences. · Day 12 Look out for dolphins as you cross Drake's Passage. · Day 13 Disembark this morning. We use 15-passenger dinghies for shore landings in Antarctica, these being relaxed affairs with some walking but nothing very strenuous. As you are part of a small group, the length of shore landings are not limited by the authorities. Your guides make sure the impact of your visit is minimal and control where you go and how long you stay there. You are provided with special footwear and clothing to wear whilst on land to prevent the spread of any foreign organisms into Antarctica. Please note that you will be crossing the 400 miles of Drake's Passage where seas can get rough. The M/V Antarctic Dream provides double or twin cabins on the lower deck. Rooms are just under 100ft2 and have portholes and en suite bathrooms. You can upgrade to the larger cabins of the Shackleton, Pardo and Cape Horn decks if you wish at extra cost.
