How active?
This adventurous holiday requires no experience, just a reasonable fitness level. Hike, ride and enjoy the white-water rafting but you can opt out of specific activities if you wish. Shore landings in Antarctica involve some gentle walking but nothing too strenuous. Note that seas can get rough across the 400 miles of Drake's Passage.

There is some high altitude walking in the Atacama, but you acclimatise gradually. In Patagonia, you hike a four-day trail across Torres del Paine, walking around five hours per day. Shore landings in Antarctica are relaxed affairs with some gentle walking.

Stay in luxury hotels, charming lodges, and communal refugios in Patagonia. Spend nights at a converted farmstead inside Torres del Paine and a remote lodge in the heart of the Alerce forest. The M/V Antarctic Dream provides 100ft2 cabins, great food and a bar, gym, sauna and library.
Stay in first class small hotels with twin/ double en suite rooms, except for four nights in Patagonia's refugios.
