How active?
The Inca Trail involves high altitudes and some steep steps. In total you walk around 28 miles over four days at altitudes of up to 4,200m, at a fairly relaxed pace. You have sufficient time to acclimatise and the walk is fully guided and portaged. We run our own departures so that only our clients walk together. Our extended schedule means calmer walking conditions and quieter campsites. In Buzios you can be as active as you like. There are over 20 bays surrounding the town, each with its own flavour and atmosphere. Choose whether to swim, snorkel, dive, windsurf, sail, kayak - or just relax on the beach.

Take up the challenge of reaching Machu Picchu on foot, then reward your efforts with a week on a beautiful Brazilian beach. The guided walk to Machu Picchu is one day longer than most other tours, so you leave the crowds behind and have longer to enjoy the experience. On arrival in Brazil you can savour your achievements and relax in your boutique hotel in the stylish coastal town of Buzios, north of Rio. How comfortable?
In Cusco stay in a first class colonial style hotel. When camping on the Inca Trail we provide a fully portaged trip with both dining and toilet tents to make the experience as civilised as possible. All of our Inca Trails are dedicated Pura departures. We offer both set departure dates and private departures. On set dates the maximum group size is 16 with two guides, although groups are usually six to eight people with one guide. In Buzios, you will stay in a beautifully located small, stylish boutique hotel overlooking the sea.

Not quite right?
