Brazil
BRAZIL
The Northeast Blend
Experience the real Brazil with our hand-picked highlights of the northeast corner of this vast country. Explore and relax in the wonderful city of Rio de Janeiro. Fly to the Chapada Diamantina for peaceful walking in stunning scenery, exploring the hidden pools and waterfalls which dot the landscape. Travel to a remote tropical island for swimming, canoeing and walking. Complete your holiday with the vibrant music, fine food and fascinating culture of Salvador. How active?
This holiday is ideal for anyone who enjoys hiking far from the crowds. Swimming is always optional but there is a lot of it, both in the ocean and in natural pools. Two of the walks in Chapada Diamantina can take up to six hours, but do not involve long uphills or large height gains. Walking here gets hot, so there are frequent stops for cooling dips in pools and waterfalls. Island activities include snorkelling, canoeing, walking, horse riding and white-water rafting none of which require experience, just a willingness to have a go.
